Thanks for visiting the future online home of Team Killian for Seattle. We are preparing the site and will have it live soon. If you'd like to talk to the candidate, you can email the campaign here.
I am suspending my campaign for Seattle City Council.
Due to pressing family matters, I am currently unable to devote the time required to campaign for public office.
My passion for the future of Seattle has not diminished and my participation in public life will not go away. I am now looking for new ways to involve myself in building a better future for this city.
Thanks to all who supported my campaign. I am proud of those who've made the difficult choice to run for office. It is a noble endeavor, and I applaud their willingness to serve.
McKinstry's David Allen Supports Team Killian
In President Obama's 30 minute campaign infomercial, he highlighted Seattle-based McKinstry as "a model for the nation regarding energy efficient construction and job creation." I am inspired by McKinstry's pragmatic approach.
McKinstry Executive and Owner David Allen has agreed to join my campaign as an advisor. We welcome him aboard and look forward to working with McKinstry to build a better Seattle.
The Viaduct as Example: Why I am Running for Seattle City Council January 13, 2008
I love this City. Today is a day to look forward. I applaud the public service of all stakeholders involved in the development of solutions for the Viaduct.
Regardless of how each individual citizen of Seattle feels about today's decision, it is clear that the City of Seattle went into this negotiation lacking focus and easily divided. Seattle City Government, which should safeguard Seattle's interests, more frequently found itself outside the main negotiations.
We must find pragmatic solutions worthy of our progressive ideas.
I am running for City Council to implement pragmatic solutions worthy of our progressive ideas. During my involvement in local and State politics, I've watched Seattle lose ground in its ability to negotiate with State interests. The Citizens of Seattle must not assume that others will protect our interests. Our city government is comprised of well-intended individuals with good ideas, but we can and must do better implementing those ideas.
Seattle has been given an opportunity to reclaim our waterfront. We must now be wise stewards in how we choose to implement the many good ideas that will be presented in the coming years.
Join Team Killian today and help us provide that voice of reason and optimism that will help Seattle move forward.
